Dear Volunteer,
Please complete an on-line Servant Ministry Application, if you’ve not already completed one. This is a requirement of MSC to serve with the children.
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
• Games – Assist the Station Coordinator in reinforcing the daily bible point through fun and crazy games! You may get wet and will need sunscreen for this position!
• Snacks – Assist the Station Coordinator in organizing and aid crews as they prepare yummy daily bible point reinforcing snacks for their fellow VBS participants.
• Nursery – Assist the Station Director in the different areas of the Nursery. Nursery hours are a little longer than all the other positions as the only children being cared for in the nursery will be those of our volunteers. (Required to arrive @ 8am and stay until 12:30pm, and on June 18th – required to stay until 2pm as the VBS Team tears down.)
• Crew Leader – Our greatest need! Must love God and love children and be able to co-lead a crew 5-12 children through activities, help facilitate discussions and have FUN!
• Open to serve in any area – we will assign you to an area after the volunteers with position preferences have been assigned.
• Set Up/Tear Down – in addition to the above listed positions, if you are available for Set Up on Sunday, June 5th/6th (during the Live the Mission Weekend) or for Tear Down on Friday, June 18th (immediately following VBS) – please note this on your application! Lunch and childcare provided for both dates – please include number of family members and their ages.
EXPECTATIONS
• Follow the application process, as stated above.
• Walking and growing in Jesus.
• Commit to prayer – for you personally, for the VBS team, for the children, for salvations and for God to be glorified through VBS!
• Attend our mandatory VBS Leader Night on June 4th, 2009 – 7-9pm. Check-in begins at 6:30pm. Childcare is provided.
• Commit to serving all 5 days of VBS, or 10 days if you’ve signed up for both weeks of VBS.
• Arrive no later that 8:30am each day of VBS. (Nursery volunteers are required to arrive at 8:00am each day of VBS.)
• Actively participate, contribute, and remain in your assigned position. Lead by example and hold others accountable to the same.
